A Butterfly Mind
Hello, I’m Linda
I have a butterfly mind. I hope some of the things that interest me also appeal to you.
I am a lifelong social scientist. My earliest memories are of reading National Geographic, biographies of statesmen and celebrities, history, and current events. My guidance counselors always urged me to study STEM subjects, but interactions with humans were my most profound interest.
This late-in-life writing addiction started with an invitation to write a few op-ed columns for a local newspaper. Evidently some of the columns were shared. I was encouraged to consider more writing as well as speaking.
I enjoyed public speaking, course development, and teaching in my pre-retirement life. I have added it to my list of recent activities.
I graduated from the University of Maryland with a summa cum laude degree in sociology with a minor in psychology, then followed up with a Master’s Degree in Human Development Psychology. I am a life member of Phi Kappa Phi. I continue to seek additional formal and informal learning opportunities in Economics, Business Management, International Relations as well as Theology.
I am a retired AF MSgt and DOD civil servant. I’ve held jobs as varied as assembly line worker and Employee Relations Specialist.
My life’s mantra is “Live to serve and share joy.”
